A group of 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students had an incredible experience at Maritime Career Discovery Day! ⚓️
Students attended an informational session titled "All about the Port: Ships, Cargo, and Seafarers," then connected with local representatives to explore maritime businesses, organizations and government entities in the Mobile area. These conversations gave them valuable insight into the wide range of maritime careers available right here in our community.
They also had the opportunity to visit the National Maritime Museum of the Gulf, where they explored exhibits and gained a deeper understanding of the maritime industry and what careers in this field can look like.
It was a great day of learning, exploration, and future career inspiration!

This year’s ACES competition was an outstanding success for our students, showcasing their talent, teamwork, and dedication across multiple events.
The team earned first place in bocce ball, demonstrating impressive skill. In the tower efficiency category, students constructed three towers that met all specifications and held 500 pounds or more, a remarkable achievement that highlighted their precision and problem-solving abilities.
Students also expanded their knowledge of water filtration systems, gaining valuable hands-on experience in environmental engineering. One of the most exciting accomplishments of the competition was the successful creation of a floating concrete canoe—a project that demonstrated innovation and creativity.
The hard work and dedication of our students made this year’s ACES competition truly memorable. Their accomplishments exemplify the spirit of THS, and we look forward to seeing what they achieve next. Also, thank you to Ms. Baker for her hard work leading students to improve and find their passion and strengths through engineering.

Entrepreneurship Inspires Theodore Students
As part of CTE Month, Mr. Corey Hunter, CEO of Goal Diggaz Transportation, and Tony, CEO of Secret Scientist, spent time with our Logistics and Business & Marketing Academies.
Both speakers shared their journeys as young entrepreneurs, showing our students that success is achievable through vision, discipline, and determination. It was especially meaningful to see Mr. Hunter, a Theodore High School alumnus, return to the halls where he once walked to give back and inspire the next generation—a powerful reminder of the impact one story can have.
A key takeaway from their visit was the reminder that it’s not about how you start, but how you finish.
We want to thank Mrs. Cowan, Mrs. Howard and Coach Nelson for coordinating this incredible speaking engagement. Moments like these take a team to create, and we are grateful to all who helped make it possible.
